  A must do for Wetland Bird Photography. Has a variety of common species and the not often seen Marsh crake (Porzana pusilla) I have seen it here but was not able to get in a picture :-). Pukeko, Porphyrio melanotus. Taken on a Nikon P900. (handheld very long lens :-))

  Very well kept track , best travelled anti -clockwise . Starting from the boat harbour , with Lake Aviemore to your right . Every 100 metres , a display of the area's history , including the bird life in the ponds , streams and lake . Suggested walk : . . . to the first camping area , and return along the bike track to town . About 1 hour ( plus photos).
